Exploring a sustainable career path

Strengthening global cultural exchanges is an inevitable trend, and altPlus hopes to use this event to attract more talented people to join the bamboo material industry and contribute to the "altPlus Solution" for the path of sustainable development.

altPlus is a bamboo forest industry company firmly based within bamboo forest resources. We manufacture products from rapidly renewable, sustainably grown, bamboo. We are committed to developing standards that can be trusted and that will stand the test of time.  At the same time, we sincerely hope that we can work together with outstanding talents to explore a sustainable career path.

1. Discover your strengths

It is vital to identify and utilise your strengths in your career path. It is possible to identify where your strengths lie through what you have learnt,  social environment, etc. Once you have identified your strengths, you will be able to target career fields or projects that make the most of those strengths.

altPlus is based on China's and the world's bamboo forest resources, maximising the use of local resources to create sustainable products.

Coming from Canada, we are familiar with fiber biproducts from our wood industry as well as other agriculture industries, corn, hemp and coffee bean waste and more. So when I entered into the bamboo industry focused originally on building materials, a natural biproduct was how to use the rest of the culm in fiber based composites. My home being near the auto industry core of USA – Detroit – had an abundance of interest in utilizing biobased materials as a composite material with polymers. This then led us down the path we are today , where we found ourselves in widerspread application. ”Mr Rupert sincerely shared at the event.

2. Enhancing the global perspective

In today's fast-changing world, it is essential to assess one's career development with a global perspective. Each individual learns about various industries through current events in order to adjust their career plans.

This is one of the objectives of the event, which is to build an international platform for international students from North America to integrate into the nation's innovation and entrepreneurship, and to listen to the advice of experts and business representatives in order to network with industry seniors from diverse backgrounds.

3. Challenges and opportunities

The world is constantly changing, and challenges are endless. While it is right to be optimistic in the face of adversity, clarity on how to move forward is key.

“The downturn in the market has had an impact on the growth of our building materials industry, but that our fibre products and resource products are strongly resilient in the market segments. We believe there is a strong resilience in the key segments and we still see investment ongoing into building out capacity." Mr Rupert said. This is achieved by continuously optimising our products and services to meet changing market demands.
