EB Tek™: Building a Safe and Quiet Future

Bamboo is rapidly becoming a new direction in the construction industry. According to a study by Bogor Agricultural University(IPB University)in Indonesia and Brock University in Canada.  And bamboo offers a cost-effective alternative to building materials as a key enabler of sustainable development. Supported by bamboo resources, altPlus' EB Tek™ adheres to the concept of a low-carbon transition, and is committed to building spaces of the future that are both safe and serene by meeting fire and acoustic standards.

On June 7, 2024, Professor Naresworo Nugroho of IPB University noted in his study that technological advances have transformed bamboo into a promising, high-quality building material. He has continued to innovate in engineered bamboo, including exploring methods of processing bamboo for composites, and has also conducted research on its structural properties in the form of bamboo binderless boards (BBB) and bamboo reinforced boards (BRB). Naresworo notes BBBs are eco-friendlier and more sustainable than conventional commercial panels, while BRBs offer superior structural stability for high- load construction applications.

Meanwhile, Associate Professor Amir Mofidi of Brock University is utilizing advanced technology to create new engineered bamboo materials that are revolutionizing the construction industry with cost-effective solutions. Traditionally, the industry has favored high-carbon-emitting steel, concrete and softwoods with a 30- to 40-year growth period. Given the fast-paced construction industry, Prof. Mofidi focuses on innovative supply chains, promoting sustainability by cultivating non-invasive bamboo species in labs and advocating for renewable resources in construction.

EB Tek™ guards safety and serenity

Bamboo as an environmentally friendly material in construction is the best choice in the context of sustainable development. Of course, in addition to the mainstream recognition of the principle of low-carbon environmental protection, to meet the needs of fire prevention and noise reduction is also the selection of building materials and design more attention to the performance. In line with the realities of the situation, altPlus is also doing its best for engineering bamboo research, combining real-world needs with the latest technology to bring EB Tek™ into the global limelight.

Every product crafted with individually selected and finely finished strips of bamboo and manufactured to the highest quality wood doors, which matches and exceeds the standard and performance expected from traditional wood door industrie.

In terms of fire performance, EB Tek™ Door Wall & Partition Systems are fire resistant from 20 to 90 minutes and comply with NFPA 252 (2012), Columbia University 7-2 and UL10B, UL10C standards. In terms of acoustic performance, acoustic sound cores of STC class up to 42, with acoustic hardware configurations, can help to achieve the most stringent of acoustic partition setups. Meet the quiet environment needed for educational facilities, office conference rooms and business travel programs.
